  • Birth Date: November 06, 1978 Unathi Msengana (née Nkayi) is a South African singer, actress and radio personality best known for hosting shows on youth station YFM and Metro FM's drivetime show, with Glen Lewis. She is best known to television viewers as the co-host (with Rowan Cloete) of the third season of the reality competition Popstars, in 2004. She also replaced Mara Louw as a judge on the M-Net reality competition Idols, in 2011. Over the years she has collected a string of accolades. In 2003, she walked away with two awards at the Metro FM Music Awards, for Song of The Year and Best Dressed Artist. In 2004 and 2005 she was named as one of the Top Ten people in Media by The Star newspaper and was named as the most promising woman in media at the MTN Media Awards. Unathi has also been nominated twice at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Her most recent accolades were being voted as South Africa's Best Female at the Metro FM Music Awards and nominated for Best Urban Pop Album at the SAMAs. She was the subject of an episode of the Nicky Greenwall-hosted documentary series The Close Up, which aired on e.tv and the eNews Channel in 2012. She has been married to fellow DJ Thomas Msengana, better known as Bad Boy T, since 19 September, 2009.
